Brief
The National Defence College, Ushafa Camp, Abuja, has several existing building blocks that have deteriorated over time due to age, continuous use, and exposure to weather conditions. These structures are critical to the College’s academic, administrative, and residential operations. The current state of disrepair poses functional, safety, and aesthetic challenges, necessitating comprehensive renovation works to restore the buildings to acceptable operational standards.
The primary objective of this project is to rehabilitate and upgrade the identified dilapidated blocks within the NDC Ushafa Camp to ensure structural integrity, improved functionality, enhanced safety, and compliance with modern building and service standards, while preserving the original building intent.
Scope of Work
- Structural repairs to damaged elements (walls, slabs, beams, and columns where necessary)
- Replacement and repair of roofing systems, including insulation and rainwater disposal
- Refurbishment of doors, windows, and ironmongery
- Internal and external finishes (plastering, tiling, painting, ceiling replacement)
- Electrical system upgrades (wiring, lighting, fittings, power outlets)
- Plumbing and sanitary works (water supply lines, drainage, sanitary fittings)
- Mechanical services where applicable (ventilation, cooling systems)
- External works such as walkways, drainage improvements, and minor landscaping
- General site cleaning, waste disposal, and making good upon completion
